Camera Angles

[All of the images I have selected are from the British soap opera, Eastenders because  wanted too stick with a set theme

Above, is an image of the character Lauren Branning, who is an 18yr old alcoholic, and in this specific scene is drinking neat vodka. As you can see from this show, the background is faded out so that the audience focus' on just the character and what she is doing. This shot is a close-up and is used too show mainly the characters emotions and what that one person is specifically doing. In this case, you can see how run down her face is and you can clearly see that its vodka she is drinking.

In this shot, you can see Alfie and Roxy (who is hugging him from behind ) in the kitchen. We do not see their whole body because he is sat down so it is not necessary yet the audience also sees the scenery in which they are placed. This is called a medium shot because part of the scenery is in the background and not the whole body/bodies are shown.

In this shot, you can clearly see the full emotion on the character Ronnie's face and that she is in mid conversation with another character. You can see the part of the scenery yet the audience also feels part of the conversation. This camera angle is called an over the shoulder shot and is used for the audience too feel part of the conversation and too see from one of the characters point of view

This camera angle shot is of Stacey (who's no longer in the soap opera anymore) and this shot is called an extreme-close up. This is because the whole background is blurred out, too make the audience concentrate on the characters facial expressions. Her face almost fills the screen, mainly conveying her emotions. This shot is used too portray too the audience how the character is feeling and full show their given emotion in that scene frame.

  1. Good choices; don't forget the other camera shot types we learned about too ( add these, please)
