Transformers:


Pre-production:

The film 'Transformers' frachise is an adaptation from the original toy figurines and cartoon episodes. The film director for this production was Michael Bay. The studios that made this film was Paramount pictures and Hasbro. The average budget that they had too spend was $195,000,000. The stars that signed up for the film were:

Production:

The preperation for the filiming of this film started in Northwest India and the principal photography commenced with the shooting locations of Chicago, Florida, and Moscow. This film was filmed in the form of 3-D filming, costing a budget of $30million. When filming this film, an extra suffered a serious accident when the cable line of a car being towed snapped onto her car, leaving her permanently brain damaged, her left eye sewn shut and paralized on her left side. Her family foiled a law suit against Paramount picures, costing around $350,000, even though they paid for all her medical treatment.

Post production:

This film does really rely on the special effects, too fully convey the action packed fights, explosions and robots. The sepcial effects used are Industrial Light and magic (ILM) although Digital Domain was used for 350 shots. More than half of the film had too be converted into the 3-D footage during post-production too fix any techincal flaws. There was re-shooting that needed too be done after the extras accident on 2nd septemeber 2010.

Marketing:

The film was marketted through:
  • On a 30 second trailer screening at the Super bowl XLV on Fox
  • theatrical trailers
  • Hasbro's toy line
  • clips 
  • billboards (i.e buses)
The films premier was at the Moscow International Film Festival on June 23rd 2011. On its opening weekend, in the USA on 3rd July 2011,in box office it produced $97,400,00 and was published on 4,013 screens. On its full opening weekend end globally (July 1st) it produced $115,886,050 and had a gross of $352,358,779.
